Chasing Ghosts (Imperial agent part 5)

Jen's next target is a mysterious "ghost cell" of deadly assasins. Can Jen outmanuevre enemies who can look like anyone? And what of Mia, a former terrorist working with her?

(Jen's comments and more bellow the cut)

From Jen's (imaginary) diary...

I have asked Kaliyo to call me Jen, after all we have been working together for a while now and there is no use to try to be formal with someone like her. She flat out refused though, saying she would only use my name when I start acting like a real person rather than a tool of the Empire. When I start thinking for myself.
The truth is, I do have secret thoughts that might even be called traiterous, thoughts I am afraid to pursue to their logical conclusion. The Empire, my beloved country, is not perfect, I have seen too many signs of that already. Balmorra, Shadow Town, what Theovor Mindak said about his wife... giant monuments to the Sith who are above all laws... sometimes it seems to me there are too many to count.
And sometimes I ask myself, what is the best way to serve my country?

From: Mia Hawkins
Subject: Running

So, I've been running for my life, hiding from Imperials and anyone who might've survived the ghost cell.
What've you been up to?

Not sure if you'll ever see this, but there are things I never got to say. I should've died on Tatooine. I should hate Imperial Intelligence with all my heart.

I didn't, and I don't, and I don't know how to keep fighting. I'm not giving up, I just... don't know.
Stay alive, okay?

---

I have been thinking about Mia.
I never even considered hurting her. She helped us, trusted us... whatever anyone might say, she is not an enemy. She is a person desperately trying to do the right thing and I believe we might even be similar in a way.
But it goes deeper than that. Mia was willing to turn to her fiercest enemy and I don't think I can even imagine how hard going against her own people had to be for her. To admit that maybe we had common interests after all, that maybe we can talk and even cooperate... it had to take immense strength and I can't fully express how much I admire and respect her.
I hope she will be all right. I hope he will find a new cause. And I hope we can meet again some day.

I had another nightmare, for the third night in a row now.
They're still the same, the purple lightning, Zhorrid's girlish face and the paralysis which prevents me to move, to stop her, to do anything. It seemed to last forever.
I desperately tried to wake up, to get away from that, but I only saw other Sith, remorseless, locked in endless power struggles. Lord Grathan's fortress, full of weapons turned against the Empire.
And then there was Jadus, saying something about a glorious new vision for the future, about spreading terror and pain to every corner of the Empire. And then a giant explosion that blocked out everything with blinding light.
That finally woke me, trembling like a leaf, terrified beyond measure.
